On July 1st, 2024, Gosuncn RichLink's new 4G industrial router solution - GR531 was officially released.
GR531 is a compact industrial cellular router that provides reliable connectivity in rigorous conditions common in industries like smart meter, monitoring, and retail. 1 Industry-leading product design, Compact and sturdy
The GR531 product adopts an industry-leading small-size design of 82.4×78×28.3mm, ensuring high integration while guaranteeing the reliability and easy installation of the product.
The GR531 features an aluminum alloy casing, with a weight as low as 168g, combining the characteristics of being lightweight and sturdy and durable. The product supports DIN Mounting or flat surface mounting, facilitating flexible deployment by users according to the on-site situation.
Inside the product, the highly integrated design solution reduces the overall size of router and also enhances the reliability of the product. Based on the self-developed 4G module product, the GR531 adopts the "Single Modem Solution" . Compared with the commonly used AP + Modem solution in the market, the Single Modem solution will utilize the processor and storage space of the 4G module, saving AP chips and memory chips for customers. The overall size of the router is smaller and brings a reduction in the procurement cost of the entire machine's components for customers.
2 Design for Multiple scenarios, complete functions
The GR531 is equipped with complete hardware interfaces: 1×WAN/LAN + 1LAN dual network ports, 1 USB Type-C interface, 1 RS232/RS485 serial port, and 1 DI/DO, which can connect various types of industrial equipment and has strong scalability. The 6 LED indicator lights designed on the front of the product can visually display the working status of the router.
In terms of communication protocols, the GR531 can support comprehensive network protocols such as PPP, PPPoE, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DHCP RELAY, ICMP, NAT, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, ARP, NTP, SSH, DDNS, etc., and rich routing protocols such as Static Routing, Policy Routing, RIP, OSPF, and BGP, with extremely strong compatibility.

Optimal access with dual SIM cards: The GR531 can automatically switch different SIM cards based on network signal strength, roaming status, network status, etc., and always maintain the optimal state for access.

Auto Failover mechanism: The GR531 supports the automatic failover mechanism among cellular communication, Wi-Fi wireless communication and wired communication. Dual Image Backup mechanism: To deal with failures caused by abnormal device storage, the Flash memory of the GR531 has two sets of firmware built-in and has a dual-image function. When one image is damaged or fails to work properly due to various reasons (such as software errors, virus attacks, hardware failures, etc.), the system can automatically switch to another complete image to ensure the continuous operation of the system and reduce the risk of downtime and business interruption.
Secure communication mechanism: To reduce security risks, the GR531 is configured with a complete secure communication mechanism, supporting firewall functions such as NAT, DMZ, Port Forward, IP/MAC Filter, Access Control List, etc., and supporting PPTP/L2TP/GRE/IPSec VPN communication protocols. In addition, the GR531 also supports the SIM lock security mechanism.

In terms of on-site deployment, the GR531 supports two power supply modes: adapter power supply or external PoE power supply. In some environments where power access is inconvenient, the devices already deployed on the site (such as surveillance cameras) can supply PoE power to the GR531 through the network port, greatly simplifying the difficulty of deployment.
